UE Life Sciences, an early Early Cancer Detection Solutions provider, raises $3M in Series-A funding from Aarin Capital and Unitus Seed Fund. The Company was founded by Mihir Shah and Co-founder Prof. Matt Campisi.

This funding will be used for expansion of trials for its newly developed hand held breast examination tool called “iBreastExam” in India . UE Life Sciences also aims at setting up its manufacturing units in India along with building a network of distribution  by means of public and private primary care providers across the country.

The company’s mission is to innovate technologies, so Cancer detection can happen as early as possible. The focus being on the fact that millions of women, don’t have access to breast cancer early detection. Incidents of breast cancer is expected to continue growing and with that the mortality rate, mainly due to late stage detection. With their innovations they hope to make early detection possible and hence decrease the mortality rate.
Mihir founded the company in Jan 2009, and since then the company has made two remarkable innovations – No touch BreastScan and iBreastExam, both approved by FDA. The iBreastExam is priced at about Rs 100, and can pair with any smartphone through Bluetooth and scans the results over the screen. It alerts the user about any abnormality detected.
