The Yellow Door was conceptualized on a walk when, Versha Vohra, the founder, while talking to her sister, realized her own passion and dream of creating a place where designer products are offered at affordable prices. Her desire to be a part of the world of décor led her to follow her heart where her creative instincts and talents grew unbound. Blessed with a great aesthetic sense she was exposed to international designs and clients, which helped hone her skills in the world of décor.

The startup claims to have more than 50,000 visitors in a month and receives more than 50 orders per day. What started as a one woman shop, has now expanded to 25 professionals all diligently working towards making The Yellow Door a household name. They now have a creative marketing, logistics, product & graphic designers and accounts team as well and are hiring more people mostly for technology followed by designers.

When we asked them, about what makes their startup different from others, they said:

“The Yellow Door personally designs and handpicks every product ensuring that each product is unique and meets the highest standards of quality. All products are carefully designed and handcrafted in small towns of the country. Our endeavor is to promote the Indian handicrafts by integrating our contemporary designs with the unique skills of our craftsmen, and developing beautiful handmade products which can find a special place in your homes. We specialize in hand painted antique finishes, which give a rich character to our products.”

The Startup plans to be a house hold name by growing their online presence. They also aim to open stores across India and make their presence  internationally by 2016.
