Bangalore based online reputation management startup RepUp has raised an undisclosed amount in funding from Indian Angel Network (IAN). The funding was led by Sanjay Mehta , Keshav Murugesh and Apurva Parekh on behalf of IAN. As a part of this funding, Sanjay Mehta will join the board of RepUp. The startup plans to bring on-board about 500 hotels in near future. The next in line will be expansion to other categories and scale up operations outside the country.
Founded by former IIIT(M) graduate Pranjal Prashar in December 2014, RepUp helps hoteliers increase bookings by improving the online reputation of the website/brand. RepUp aggregates online comments and feedback on hotels from around 100 websites. This data is then used to help owners make informed decisions on their operations, service and pricing.
RepUp claims that its product has helped hoteliers increase their revenue by 22 per cent to 26 per cent. The startup also provides Competitor Analysis allowing its customers to plan and implement strategies in order to stay ahead of competition. RepUp also helps customers optimize their on-line bookings by providing comprehensive price comparison as well as reviews from all platforms – on the hotel websites itself, thus saving on the 11% to 30 % commission, that would otherwise go to OTAs. Hoteliers can also get detailed feedback to improve the service, facilities and rates.
The startup offers products like Review manager, Review Advocator, Web Widgets, Guest Insights and Area Intelligence. It boasts of a Client base including giants like ITC Hotels, Radisson Blu, DeltinRoyale, Westin and FatehGarh.
