Cityfurnish, a Gurgaon based on-demand rental platform for furniture and appliances has raised undisclosed amount of seed fund from Citrus Pay’s cofounder Jitendra Gupta.
The company will utilize this funding for strengthening the team, improve product management and order fulfillment.
CityFurnish’s idea was conceptualised by Neerav Jain in August, 2015 but was launched in late September. The startup offers furniture, furnishings and appliances on rent. It has tied-up with third-party providers through a marketplace model besides keeping inventory on its books.
Before starting Cityfurnish, Jain interned with Pepperfry besides working at his family firm, Chandra Shekhar Exports.
“We are delighted to get Industry veteran Jitendra as a director on board, his (Jitendra’s) insights and experience are valuable to us as new generation entrepreneurs and it will be a great help to us in making our mark in the segment and changing perception of users towards renting or shared economy,” said Neerav, the founder of Cityfurnish.
Currently, the startup is offering its services in Gurgaon and Delhi-NCR region.Cityfurnish has aggressive expansion plans and will soon launch in Bangalore market and Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad will follow soon.
Speaking on the monetisation model, Neerav told,
“We work transparently by charging variable monthly rental according to rental tenure. A customer has to pay a booking amount upfront and monthly payment can be made by cash/cheque or card. We would be starting auto debit facility soon to ease the payment process too.”
Cityfurnish is also offering startups and early stage businesses 3 months free furniture on subscription of 12 months plan.
The company has already furnished 175 properties and is looking to furnish 200 more by January, 2016.
