This week, Bus aggregator Shuttl has raised $20 million (Rs 135 crore) led by Lightspeed Ventures and Times Internet. Hyperlocal grocery delivery startup Peppertap has raised Series B funding round by raising $4 million. There were many other acquisitions and fundings that made the rounds this week. 1. Online photography firm Canvera raised $2.2M from Info Edge
Bangalore-based online photography startup Canvera Digital Technologies Pvt Ltd has raised Rs 15 crores ($2.2 million) from Info Edge (India) Ltd, which runs consumer internet properties such as Naukri, 99acres, Jeevansathi and Shiksha.
2. Shotang Raises Rs 33 Crore From Exfinity Venture Partners and Unitus Impact
Bangalore-based online business-to-business (B2B) marketplace, Shotang, has raised about $5 Mn (INR 33 Cr.) in a funding round led by Exfinity Venture Partners and Unitus Impact. The raised capital will be used in building a technology team and strengthening its operations.
3. Cloudnine Raises Rs 400 Crore From IVFA
India Value Fund Advisors (IVFA) has invested Rs 400 crores for a significant minority stake in Bengaluru-based maternity and infant care chain Cloudnine. The funds raised will be used to set up 10-12 hospitals (4-5 each year), evaluate strategic collaborations with top medical professionals or buy-over existing units to be rebranded as Cloudnine.
4. Artificial intelligence startup, Arya raises $750K in Pre-Series A funding
Arya, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) start-up has raised Pre-Series A funding of $750K from YourNest Angel Fund and VentureNursery members. Arya offers deep learning algorithms for developers to build intelligent AI systems.
5. Medi Assist invests US $1 Million in mobile fitness start-up MobieFit
Medi Assist, India’s leading managed healthcare company has made an investment of US$ 1 Million in MobieFit, a mobile fitness venture based in Goa. This strategic partnership will further strengthen Medi Assist’s presence in the corporate segment and also allow the company to make deeper inroads into the Indian consumer health and fitness market.
6. Bus aggregation platform Shuttl raises $20M from Lightspeed Ventures & Times Internet
Bus aggregator Shuttl has raised $20 million (Rs 135 crore) led by Lightspeed Ventures and Times Internet. Existing investor Sequoia Capital also participated in the funding round. The funding will be used towards the enhancement of the technology and expanding its operation to multiple cities beyond Delhi NCR.
7. Truck Logistics startup Truckmandi raises Pre-Series A funding
Delhi based truck logistics Truckmandi, has announced a pre-Series A fundraise under $2 million. The company raised this round between July-September in 2015. The round saw participation from individuals such as Ritesh Dwivedy (JustEat Founder), Ramakant Sharma (Livspace Founder), Mount Nathan Advisors (Singapore-based) and others.
8. PepperTap closes $4M in Series B funding round from Innoven, acquires Jiffstore
Gurgaon-based hyperlocal grocery delivery startup (and fresh veggie/meat) platform Peppertap has raised Series B funding round by raising $4 million (about Rs 26.5 crore) from Innoven Capital, in addition to the $36 Mn raised recently from Snapdeal, Sequoia India, SAIF Partners, Ru-Net, Beenext & JAFCO Asia.
9. OK Sir, planning to raise Series A funding of Rs 134 Crore
OK Sir, a home service provider startup is planning and in talks with institutional investors to raise series A funding of Rs 134 crore. The total amount invested so far has been around Rs 13.4 crore.
10. Healthcare startup Doctor Insta raises $500K pre-series A funding
Gurgaon-based video-medicine platform startup Doctor Insta has raised $500 K in pre series A funding from angel investor Rishi Parti and US-based VC firm, BrahmaX Ventures. The funding raised will be used towards research and deployment of the product. It also plans to raise more funds, close to $1 Million to $2 Million, in order to expand the team, conduct marketing and promotional activities.
