Jigsaw Academy, the online school of analytics, based out of Bangalore, has raised Rs 20 crore in its first round of funding led by Manipal Global Education Services. TV Mohandas Pai has also invested an undisclosed amount in his personal capacity.

It plans on targeting the foreign markets in future along with building classroom content. They are looking at building a repository of analytics training content with contributions from industry experts from around the world.

Jigsaw Academy was founded in 2011 by Gaurav Vohra and Sarita Digumarti. The founders have over 25 years of combined experience in consulting and analytics across multiple industry verticals in India and the United States. Jigsaw Academy, is an award winning institute that offers courses in Big Data and data analytics at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, as well as specialized courses for specific sectors.

The startup was featured in KnowStartup. They claim to have trained over 10,000 students across 30+ countries in the most widely used industry-relevant data analytics tools and techniques.

The USP of Jigsaw is their hands-on virtual lab. available 24/7, that promotes a learning-by-doing teaching methodology. The lab provides access to live data, case studies and latest analytical tools, collated from companies across sectors and across countries.

Jigsaw is helping bridge that gap by training people with in-demand skills. There is a tremendous need for training in big data because:

  • Volumes of data are growing exponentially and data processing requirements are getting more and more complex and
