In his Independence Day address to the nation from the ramparts of Red Fort Prime Minister Narendra Modi said,

“This is Team India, a team of 125 crore Indians. This is the team that makes the nation and takes our nation to new heights”

With a view to boost up the Startup ecosystem of the country, PM Modi also coined a new slogan,

“Start-up India, Stand up India”

He also added,

“In the coming days, start-ups will be promoted in every corner of the country,”

PM Modi’s StartUp India initiative to kick-off from January 16

Now, the much talked about campaign by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon be in action. PM Modi announced that the action plan will be unveiled on January 16, he is also urging states to take part in it and spread the word.

During PM’s radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on All India Radio, he stated that the launch of the initiative on January 16 will see major higher educational institutions like IIMs, IITs, NITs etc participating in the event via online connectivity.

He quoted, “On August 15, I had made an initial mention of ‘StartUp India Stand Up India’. After that it has been discussed in all government departments.

Can India become the startup capital of the world? On January 16, the government will launch the full action-plan of ‘Startup India Stand Up India’. I will come before you to discuss this in detail and would welcome your suggestions. I would request the state governments as well to take this forward.”

The initiative is not just about Information Technology, but would help people to start new initiatives. Also stating that the program will help innovators come up in the country.

This programme is aimed at promoting investments in startup ventures, while targeting employment and economic growth of the country at the same time.

They will not only fund the startups but will try to create an ecosystem out of it, the time gauge bounds the central government as the program comes with a sunset clause.
