WayWheels was born out of discomfort. The discomfort of being stranded in the middle of nowhere when your vehicle broke down . The discomfort of not knowing the best service centre around that new neighbourhood you just moved into. The discomfort of not knowing the right price of a service that you just availed. It was this discomfort that led the founders to build a place that would ease this discomfort. WayWheels empowers the users to make the best choices when it comes to your vehicle.
WayWheels is an on-demand auto service platform connecting auto service vendors and 2-wheeler/4-wheeler owners. The startup aims to simplify vehicle maintenance by helping users make informed choices for repair and maintenance of their car or bike. Using the service, users can discover repair centers around them, book services online and get immediate assistance. WayWheels aims to be a one stop solution for all automobile needs.
The problem wasn’t just discovery of service providers around but also the lack of any measure for their reliability. There was no place to know how their services were reviewed by others or to share related experiences. Inadequate information was real pain for every vehicle owner. WayWheels with its web and app based application lets users Explore nearby auto repair centres, read reviews, rate and review centres that you visit, book services online, get immediate on-road assistance.
The Delhi based startup was founded by Abhinav Kumar and Puja Munda in 2014. Kumar is a Chartered Accountant by profession and has a work experience of 5 years and was the founder of vDeliver, a logistics startup based in Delhi. Kumar is currently the Head of Operations and Finance at WayWheels. Puja Munda, an IIM-K alumni and has around 4 years of work experience and heads the Marketing and HR department. There are 4 members in the Technology and another 4 in the Operations team.
Talking exclusively to us Puja said:
“The Indian automobile services market is highly unorganized and we are the first to bring that to one online platform with our extensive network of service centers. Being the only platform to cater to both vehicle owners and service provides is our USP.”
The startup is currently present in Delhi and West Bengal (South) and have tied-up with over 2000 service centres, out of which they have partnership with 250 centres for online appointment booking. It will be expanding the scope of its services along with geographical expansion. WayWheels plans to have presence in 20 cities within the next one year with addition of online spare parts store and fitment by WayWheels partnered centres.
