Mumbai-based Aasaanjobshas raised $5 million in Series A round of funding led by Aspada Advisors with participation from existing investors. The startup is a recruitment portal for blue collared and entry level white collared workers in India.

Earlier, Aasaanjobs had raised a seed funding of $1.5 million led by IDG Ventures and Inventus Capital in January 2015 and has been featured in 13 young startups to watch in 2016.

Based out of Powai, it was founded by IIT-Powai alumnus Dinesh Goel co-founded with his college mates Gaurav Toshniwal and Kunal Jadhav. Aasaanjobs’ tech-backed solutions speed up the process of recruitment by connecting matched candidates to recruiters. The company operates a marketplace of recruiters who help in addressing the employer’s recruitment needs.

Dinesh Goel, CEO, Aasaanjobs, said,

“The company would use the funds to automate its online recruitment marketplace and expand to new cities. The company would set up operations in Pune and Delhi in the first quarter and Bengaluru in the second quarter of 2016.”

Highlighting the reasons behind choosing Aasaanjobs, Kartik Srivatsa, Co- Founder & Managing Partner, Aspada Advisors said, “It will be exciting to see how the team manages to mould a “workplace of the future” by leveraging technology. The unstructured nature of recruitment as a space means there is an opportunity for disruption.”
