Cisco Systems, Inc. is an American multinational technology company headquartered in San Jose, California, that designs, manufactures and sells networking equipment. Cisco has come together with Edugild, India’s first edtech accelerator, to explore opportunities in supporting startups in this space.
As per Sanjay Kaul, Managing Director- India and SAARC, Cisco, they are planning on taking on board any of the startups that is working in a space relevant to what the company does. Kaul further added that,
“Cisco is committed to enabling innovation that is aligned to the Digital India vision.As a large organisation, we can’t do too many things. Which is why we remain on the lookout for cool ideas which help us not miss any market transition opportunities,”
Cisco, in order to attain this dream is looking at startup accelerators like Edugild, which would provide them startups having technology roadmaps and beta testing wherever such facilities are available in India.
Edugild is India’s first edtech accelerator, set up by the Maharashtra Institute of Technology and it currently houses four startups working in different areas in the education and technology space.
Rishi Kapal, chief executive, Edugild said,
“Edtech is not just elearning but covers a lot of other aspects. We received 300 applications of which we selected four as we are focused on creating quality organisations”
This would be a great opportunity for the upcoming Edutech market of the country.
