Online branded furniture startup HomeStudio is the most exciting entrant in the e-commerce space with a unique offering of exciting international styles and designs in the kitchen and furniture category. The startup funded and backed by Bren Corporation will be offering the products of Nolte Group, an 85 year old German Brand with presence in 40 countries. The startup had recently raised its seed funding of USD 5 Mn from Bren Corporation, which was to be utilized for strengthening its technology platform, build warehouse capabilities, offline studios and hiring talent.
Alok Duggal, the COO of Homestudio.com, in his new role, will be responsible for setting up the complete business and building consumer demand in the still nascent category. Alok is a marketing and sales professional with a deep expertise in designing and building new business concepts and brands. On his new role Alok said:
“This category is still lacking the joy of experience, coupled with no customization, standard solutions, one size fits all thinking. We plan to offer something completely new to the Indian consumer, through our international designs, expert know-how and a unique customer engagement process. Our methodology will remove any surprises in what is planned & imagined and what is finally delivered and experienced.”
Alok Duggal is a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) graduate from Punjab University. He did his Post Graduation Diploma in Sales & Marketing from National Institute of Sales and also marketing specialization from IMT – Ghaziabad. His last stint was with JCDecaux as the Head of Transport Business (India). Under his leadership business reached new heights. He was also instrumental in developing and managing the Metro business for JCD. During his time as Head of Marketing at ING Vysya he was responsible for category defining initiatives and activities. As one of the key members of the Business Process Reengineering group, he was instrumental in simplifying various processes to arrive at the easy banking positioning.
Founded in November 2015, Homestudio.com is an end-to-end furniture solution provider, from designs to execution to customer service in the furniture and kitchen category. The startup is building technology where in customer will be able to design kitchen and other furniture online with help of trained designers. With a current team size of 50 they are expanding in line with consumer demand to ensure that they provide the best in class experience to all consumers at all times.
The company promises to be not only someone who will just be selling branded furniture but also do end-to-end solution from product to after sale service.
