Ola, the cab hailing app which has now become a household name in the country, has announced a scheme for its driver partners offering a benefit of up to Rs 150000 and paying off first two EMIs for its drivers, on exchange of diesel vehicles for new CNG ones. The company has issued a statement saying that –
“Ola will be helping to reduce the financial burden on new driver-partners by supporting its driver partners pay off the first two EMIs….Driver partners can also benefit of free CNG Kits, free Car Insurance, free Vehicle Registration and a lot more at Ola Pragati Mahotsav,”
The company will be organizing a 5 Day camp at Gurgaon, starting tomorrow, March 18, where it is inviting driver partners across Delhi NCR to come and avail benefits of up to Rs 1,50,000 on exchange of existing Diesel vehicles for new CNG vehicles. Ola has partnered with dealers of leading car manufacturers including Maruti, Tata Nissan, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Fiat among others, for this camp.
The company has also brought on board banking and financial institutions including State Bank of India, IDBI, Shri Ram Finance amongst others. The company statement adds-
“This is yet another initiative by Ola to promote adoption of CNG vehicles and encourage entrepreneurship amongst the cab driver community in Delhi NCR,”
On Tuesday, the Delhi High Court directed cab aggregators like Ola, Uber and the radio taxis’ association to give details, including registration numbers, of those cabs which they intend to phase out by March 31st as per the Supreme Court’s order. The court has given Ola, Uber and the association a time line till April 10 to file the details along with an affidavit in a sealed cover and has marked the for next hearing on April 18.
