I am sure a lot of us have suffered the headaches when we have to parcel something, to our siblings, folks back home or even any official documents. Getting the wrapping material, the right sized box and what not and then looking for the right courier guy, offering the right price to deliver the courier. These are exactly the pain points that Parcelled wants to remove from your life.
When Xitij and his friends had to go through the same pain and all of them being connected to the Logistics industry at some point, they understood the market scope and the opportunity that was ahead. It was a result of a lot of brainstorming by the founders while thinking about what would make the life of everyone around them easy, that Bengaluru based first-mile logistics company Parcelled was born in 2014.
Xitij Kothi who is the Founder & CEO, worked with Flipkart as a manager, prior to starting this venture. He was also a part of the founding member team at the Citizens for Accountable Governance. Xitij is an Engineer, and holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. At Parcelled, he works with all the teams trying to build the best possible service. Prateek Bhandari is also a graduate from the same institute and worked at Housing prior to Parcelled, he looks at marketing of the startup. Abhishek Srivastava is an ex-BPCL employee, again from the same top college, he takes care of the operations. Rikin Kachhia is an IIT Madras graduate and served her stint at Flipkart before this, along with Nikhil Bansal who is an graduate from IIIT Allahbad. Both of them are the geeky brains behind the technology.
With its headquarters in Bangalore, the startup was launched to solve first mile logistics issues in the country. Parcelled’s unique model rests on convenience and reliability and helps consumers, small marketplace sellers & SMB’s ship items on-demand. Xitij adds:
“Parcelled is the first of its kind. It provides end-to-end solution to its customers and the comfort to deliver anything from anywhere completely hassle free. It takes care of the entire pickup, packaging and delivery of user’s essential items without having them to leave the comforts of their home.”
Parcelled’s on-demand pickup service eliminates the hassle of packaging and saves customer’s time. The users just have to schedule a suitable pickup time on www.parcelled.in or the mobile app and mention the courier pick-up location. Once the request is confirmed, a pickup agent will arrive at the location within 30 minutes. He will pack and pick up the item for shipping. Thereafter, users will get end to end tracking and delivery notifications of the item. Packaging customization and paperwork are all taken care of by packaging wizards from Parcelled. The startup has tie-ups with large logistics players like Delhivery, Fedex, Bluedart etc. Parcelled currently offers its services across 13 cities including Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Jaipur, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Surat, Indore, Gurgaon/Noida and Ahmedabad.
The startup raised a funding of Rs 32 Crore in the latest funding round in the month of October last year to strengthen its technology department. This funding round was led by Delhivery. This round was preceded by another funding round in July last year, when it received an undisclosed strategic funding from Delhivery and Tracxn Labs.
