Startup buzz is picking up in the renowned Pink City – Jaipur. Idea flow, startup networks and investments are gathering momentum within the state, and with outside linkages as well.
A number of successful Rajasthani professionals and entrepreneurs who live outside the state now see a chance to give back to their community as its startup ecosystem matures. Jaipur is also close to Delhi, which offers a ready market for startups from Rajasthan.
Today, we bring you the 5 promising startup from Jaipur which made a great start to year 2016.
GirnarSoft, which owns auto portals CarDekho.com, Gaadi.com and Zigwheels.com was founded by Amit Jain and Anurag Jain both brothers, after their visit to the Delhi Auto Expo in 2008. They also own BikeDekho.com, TyreDekho.com, and BuyingIQ.
By 2012, CarDekho had become the biggest auto portal in India with more than 70 lakh monthly visitors. It had bought Zigwheels.com from Times Internet in September 2015. The six portals collectively clock 30 million unique visitors every month. This year, CarDekho.com secured a $15 million funding, in a round led by Google Capital and existing investors.
Yufta curates fashion in women category and follows an omni-channel approach. Jaipur headquartered startup has raised pre-Series A round this month. Yufta was founded in 2013 by Ritesh Khandelwal, Ravi Khandelwal and Tarun Sharma.
The company claims to have a gross merchandise value of Rs 6 crore in the past one year, and claims to have shipped more than 1 lakh units till now. At present, Yufta has 12 shops in Jaipur.
Myly focuses as a learning platform for students and helps them connect to educators and parents over a single platform. The company claims to have 120 schools and 30,000 students currently on board and aims to reach 1,000 schools by the end of the current financial year. It currently has employee strength of 20.
The startup was founded by Gaurav Mundra and Madhup Bansal in 2015. This year, Myly raised seed funding of $100,000.
Jaipur based, LifCare, a subscription-based pharmacy with its focus area as chronic illnesses, has raised $1 million in seed funding round. The funds raised from this round will be used for expansion beyond Jaipur to other cities in the country, set up dedicated warehouses for storage of medicines and target a growing number of potential consumers.
The company that currently has a 40-member team was founded by Killa along with Rohit Mohta and Deepesh Rajpal. The patients register with the startup, with their medicine list and prescriptions, after which the pharmacists manage everything from refills to ensuring adherence ratios and educating patients on how to better manage their chronic diseases.
5. Blue Box Media
Founded in 2011 by Pawas Jain and Deepanshu Khandelwal, Blue Box Media is the parent company which owns and operates two platforms – The Tech Portal and Springtide. The Tech Portal aims to create a never-seen-before visual platform for India’s surging youth, covering global technology and India’s surging startup ecosystem.
Blue Box Media recently raised angel funding led by Mahavir Pratap Sharma (founder and director of Oscar Exports) and Ajay Data (CEO of Data Infosys Ltd).
