In the month of April we had reported about  launch of Oracle’s first startup incubation center in India called ‘Oracle Startup Cloud Accelerator’. The all new incubation center was set up in Bangalore on April 08,2016 and was inaugurated by Oracle’s President of Product Development team, Thomas Kurian. At the inauguration Kurian had said:

“We chose Bangalore for our first center, given that it is the second best funded startup hub in the world, outside of USA,”

Two months after the inauguration, Oracle has now announced its first batch of five startups. The idea behind the programme is to help India’s startup ecosystem and to support to the Digital India initiative. The list of the startups that got selected are:

  • ExpertRec- plug-n-play search and recommendation engine for online marketplaces ;
  • Niyo Solutions- Fin-Tech startup focused on alternate payment mechanisms;
  • Ray iCare- sleep monitoring device for Epilepsy, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and Cardiac Attacks;
  • Tydy- a mobile-first, automated employee on-boarding platform;
  • Vear-AR/VR technology platform

Sanket Atal, Group Vice President of Development, Oracle India, said in a statement-

“The entrepreneurial spirit in our country is going through a complete revolution. We see cloud technology playing a crucial role in enabling this change,…I would like to welcome these startups and look forward to working with them to build their business ideas for a better tomorrow,”

These five startups will not only get mentorship from Oracle and industry experts,but will also have 24×7 access to a co-working space within Oracle’s premises, and access to Oracle’s vast ecosystem of customers and partners along with its cloud services.
