1. DCM Ventures raises funds worth $770 million for technology based startups

US-based DCM Ventures, venture capital firm has raised $770 million for its various investment funds. Of this amount, $500 million will be used for DCM’s eighth flagship global investment fund, $100 million (A-fund) for early-stage startups, and $170 million (Turbo Fund) for growth-stage companies.

2. Snapdeal to buy GoJavas to regain market share

Snapdeal is planning to fully buy GoJavas, its primary delivery partner,to step up its delivery system and supply chain. It already holds a significant minority stake in GoJavas. It is yet unclear how much Snapdeal is willing to pay for GoJavas.

3. Nasdaq-listed Terrapin 3 Acquisition Corp acquires Yatra Online

As per the latest development, Yatra Online, which owns and operates travel portal Yatra.com, has agreed to be acquired by Nasdaq-listed special purpose acquisition firm Terrapin 3 Acquisition Corp (TRTL) in a reverse merger deal, which has an enterprise value of $218 million.

4. Public transport info app Ridlr raises $6 Million series B from Times Internet, others

Mumbai-based Birds Eye Systems owned public transport information app Ridlr, has raised $6 million series B funding from Times Internet and existing investors Matrix Partners India and Qualcomm Ventures. Venture debt provider Innoven Capital also participated in this round.

5. Furniture rental startup RentoMojo bags $5 Million from Accel partners, DG Ventures

Bangalore-based Edunetwork Pvt Ltd, which operates home appliances and furniture rental marketplace RentoMojo, has raised $5 million from existing investors including Accel Partners and IDG Ventures India. The new funding round comes after the startup last year raised $2 million in pre-Series A funding from Accel Partners and IDG Ventures.

6. Food-ordering start-up Twigly raises $600,000

Foodtech startup Twigly has raised $600K seed funding from Tracxn Labs, Hyderabad Angels, Freecharge founder Kunal Shah and Flipkart vice-president (engineering) Gaurav Bhalotia and other angels. The startup founded in August 2015 by Sonal Minhas, Rohan Dayal and Naresh Kumar Kachhi.

7. Language app ShareChat secures $1.35 million from SAIF Partners and India Quotient

Bangalore-based ShareChat, a regional language social networking platform that allows users to chat with each other in local languages such as Hindi, Marathi, Malayalam and Telugu, has raised $1.35 million (Rs 9 crore) from investors including SAIF Partners and India Quotient, has secured about $1.35 million (Rs 9 crore).

8. SirionLabs raises around Rs 81.5 Crores in Series-B funding round led by Sequoia India

SirionLabs, the supplier management technology products startup, has raised around Rs 81.5 crore in a Series-B funding round that was led by existing investor Sequoia India. The round also saw participation from QualGro Asean Fund and Canopy Ventures.

9. Ratan Tata backed BlueStone.com to invest Rs 40 crore on marketing over the next 12 months

Ratan Tata-backed BlueStone.com will be investing Rs 40 crore on marketing over the next 12 months as it looks to expand in the nascent-yet online jewellery market in India. According to reports, the fine jewellery market in India is pegged at about $60 billion, of which online market accounts for a minimal portion. This is the gap that BlueStone is trying to make the best use of.

10. Online marketplace for beauty products, spa and salon, Purplle all set to raise $6 million in series B funding

Purplle, an IvyCap Ventures-backed online marketplace for beauty products and spa and salon services, is closing a Series-B round of around $6 million with participation from JSW Ventures, existing investors and another investor who’s likely to join in.
