This week, Treebo Hotels, a budget hotel room-booking platform, raised Rs 112 crore in its Series B funding. IIFL and RB Investments Pte have led Rs 200 crore Series D round in online jewellery retailer Bluestone. 1. Skrilo raises USD 1.5 million in seed funding
Gurgaon-based mobile marketing and rewards platform Skrilo has raised $1.5 million in angel funding from a clutch of investors including Anuj Srivastava (ex-Google, CEO and Co-founder, Livspace) and Arvind Tiku (Founder and Group Chairman, AT Capital Group) amongst others.
2. Inter-city Taxi provider Wiwigo raises INR 4 crore from Indian Angel Network
Wiwigo.com,has raised Rs 4 crore funding from Indian Angel Network (IAN). The site is an online platform for intercity travel by cab -addressing the expensive the one-way trip problem. Through their scale and network, they are able to provide one-way taxi rental upto 50% lower than other vendors who charge for round-trip even for a drop.
3. Cab rental platform MyTaxiIndia gets $1 Million investment from Nihon Kotsu
Inter-city cab rental platform MyTaxiIndia Pvt. Ltd has raised $1 million (around Rs 6.65 crore) in a bridge round of funding from existing investor Nihon Kotsu Co, a leading taxi rental company in Japan. Delhi-based MyTaxiIndia will use the capital for expanding services to tier 2 and 3 cities. A part of the money will also go for technology development, marketing and branding.
4. Myntra to buy Hrithik Roshan’s HRX fashion brand
Flipkart-owned lifestyle e-commerce venture Myntra Designs Pvt. Ltd is in advanced discussions to buy a majority stake in fitness and sportswear brand HRX, launched by actor Hrithik Roshan. Launched in late 2013, HRX is a sports and lifestyle brand that is sold on Myntra and Flipkart. Apart from clothing and shoes, its products include belts, backpacks and wallets.
5. Treebo raises $16.7 million led by Bertelsmann
Bengaluru-based Treebo Hotels, a budget hotel room-booking platform, on Friday said it has raised Rs.112 crore in its Series B funding round led by Bertelsmann India Investments (BII), the strategic investment vehicle of international media company Bertelsmann.
6. Income tax filing portal Tax2Win raises $1 Million
Income tax filing portal, Tax2Win, has raised around $1 Million from an undisclosed business house that has six decades of experience in diversified business. The funds will be put toward product development, team building, and finding Tax2win’s niche in the market.
7. Deal4Loans raises $15 million from Franklin Templeton
Mywish Marketplaces Pvt. Ltd, which operates retail loans marketplace Deal4Loans.com, has raised $15 million from Franklin Templeton Investments. The company aggregates, markets and facilitate the sale of loan products and credit offerings from banks and financial institutions.
8. Prime Venture Partners invest $1 million into fintech startup NiYO Solutions
NiYO Solutions, a payroll and benefits startup has raised $1 million by venture capital firm, Prime Venture Partners. The Bangalore-based fin-tech startup will enable a pay raise of up to 10% for 10 million salaried Indians. NiYO Solutions was founded in 2015 by banking industry expert, Vinay Bagri (IIM Calcutta alumni) and mobile application and payments expert, Virender Bisht.
9. IIFL and RB Investments Pte invest INR 200 crore into Bluestone
IIFL and RB Investments Pte have led Rs 200 crore Series D round in online jewellery retailer Bluestone at undisclosed valuation. Existing investors in the company Kalaari Capital, Accel and IvyCap Ventures participated in the current round. BlueStone.com is India’s leading platform for purchasing jewellery online.
10. Logistics startup Truckola raises Rs 4 crore in angel funding
Mumbai-based Truckola, a technology-driven cargo transport company, has raised Rs 4 crore (around $595,000) in angel funding led by Abhishek Agarwal of Fortune Interfinance Ltd (FIFL) on LetsVenture, an online platform that connects startups with investors to facilitate angel and seed investments.
