Notion Press raises $1 million in Pre-Series A funding
Notion Press founded in 2012 by Naveen Valsakumar, Bhargava Adepalley and Jana Pillay is a self-publishing company based in Triplicane, Chennai, India. The self-publisher launched free publishing in 2013. The company focuses on developmental editing, typesetting, peer reviews, book’s layout designs, cover designs, and distribution.
As per latest updates, Notion Press has has raised $1 million in Pre-Series A funding from undisclosed HNIs. This round of funding will help the platform consolidate its market leadership, strengthen its management team and expand its services in the market.
While speaking on the occasion, Naveen Valsakumar, co-founder and CEO at Notion Press, mentioned,
“We will be intensifying our coverage across India and fuel our operations internationally as well with these funds. We are launching our US operations in the middle of September and would be launching in three other countries by end of this financial year.”
He further added,
“We are changing the way publishing solutions are provided to authors in India and do not see self-publishing as a pure service-driven business. Our home-grown proprietary technology allows us to automate most parts of the publishing, distribution and book marketing workflow. Our USP is that we treat every book as a startup and the author as its CEO,”
The startup, plans to utilise the funding towards, global expansion and expansion of its services to more Indian languages. As on date it has published over 2000+ authors with a presence in over 100 countries.
