We all have heard the saying that its all in the mind! And how true is it, a positive mindset is of paramount importance for anyone who sets out to achieve something. But there can be times when a positive mindset does not come naturally, however, it can be cultivated if the persons is open about a better thought process. Lets see what it takes to train your mind to set the stage for success.

1. Keep negativity away, get closer to Positivity

Jim Rohn, a motivational speaker once said that “you are the average of the five people you spend most of your time with”. So the first step would be to choose your company wisely. If you are the company of positive people, the same will reflect in you for sure. And more important than that is be away from people who instill negativity in you. With positive energies you surely will feel good about yourself and feel more energetic.

2. Embrace a mindset of growth

It is of paramount importance that you embrace a mindset of growth, that allows you to not only dream big but also help you push your boundries and get out of that comfort zone. This is the mindset that will allow you to dream big and push the boundaries of your ideas to new levels. And any obstacle and failure that you face should be taken as an opportunity to learn and not be sad about.

Another important thing to note here is that you have to get out of the mental block that your intelligence and talent are fixed assets and cannot be built up. Another mindset expert, Carol Dweck says:

“A fixed mindset is when people believe their basic qualities, intelligence, talents and abilities are just fixed traits. They have a certain amount and that’s that,” But people with growth mindset challenge themselves and grow.

3. Keep your energy high.

A healthy mind in a healthy body, isn’t it? It is scientifically proven that a good physical exercise gives you a boost of endorphins (the feel good hormone!). An when you are feeling good you automatically attract positive energies. Notice that when you low on energy and not work out your enthusiasm and positivity levels go down, which in turn are not good for the goals that you set for yourself. Less energy translates to less momentum and that translates to faring poor in your business.

4. No risk, no reward.

Those of you who are from the finanace domain will know this basic mantra that risk is directly proportional to the gain. When you push yourself out of your boundaries, you learn that it is eaqually rewarding as well. And with that also increases your confidence in your abilities and talent. But if you stay in the cocoon you will build a fixed mindset.

5. Embrace your mistakes and move on.

When Edison was experimenting to create the light bulb , he failed many a times, but he did not dispair, all he said was –

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10000 ways that won’t work.”

Taking risks enables you to learn from your mistakes. Instead of trying to hide or make excuses, look at what you can take away from these experiences as you go forward.

6. Never stop learning.

Stay thirsty for knowledge always and never stop learning. Thirst for knowledge is something that should stay with you for the entirety of your life. Once you start seeking more, you should be able to see beyond what is in front of you. Remember when you stop learning, you stop growing.

7. Celebrate success- but not just yours

It is very important to inculcate the virtue of  gratitude by celebrating and being happy for other people’s successes. This brings in an air of positivity to your life and inturn motivates you to do better as well.
