Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has surpassed Zara’s Amancio Ortega and Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett to become the world’s second-richest billionaire as per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Microsoft’s co-founder Bill Gates continues to lead the richie-rich list with his net worth a whopping $86 billion.Warren Buffett slipped to third spot with about $700 Million less than Bezos and a net worth of $74.9 Billion.

Bezos now has a total net worth of $75.6 Billion and gained $1.5 Billion as Amazon.com Inc’s share price rose $18.32 on Wednesday, after announcing its plans to buy Dubai-based online retailer Souq.com.

Amazon isn’t Bezos’s only venture. He also owns space exploration company Blue Origin. Its goal is to eventually take people on “space tourism” trips and to deliver satellites into orbit for corporate climates. So far, the company has only conducted test flights.

Blooomberg also noted that Bezos has added $10.2 billion to his wealth this year and $7 billion since the global equities rally began following the election of Donald Trump as US president on November 8, 2016. Buffett, who’s added $1.7 billion in 2017, has shed $4.7 billion since his fortune peaked at $79.6 billion on March 1. Ortega is up $2.1 billion year-to-date. Bezos remains $10.4 billion behind Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, the world’s richest person, with an estimated worth of $86 billion.
