A marketing veteran with more than fourteen years of industry experience in marketing commercial technology products, Pulak Satish Kumar is the COO of Puresight Systems Pvt. Ltd, the official distributor of iRobot products in India. iRobot the world’s pioneer practical smart appliances and robots manufacturing brand. In this role, he spearheads the brand’s Indian business operations, managing the administration, product development, market analysis, finalization of strategic alliances, technology procurement, and pricing of products based on market fundamentals and business requirements.
Pulak has an inherent flair for breaking into new markets and developing them for new product categories – a skill he has put to good use for some of the biggest home appliances brands in the country. Counting St. Xavier’s and Indian Institute of Science & Management as his alma maters, he joined Opel Infosys in 2001 as an Assistant Marketing Manager. By 2007, he joined Voltas as its Senior Executive (Marketing and Business Planning). He later became the Zonal Manager (South) for Philips Lighting in 2012 following his stint at Lisha Leon from 2009 as the company’s State Head (Karnataka). At Philips, Pulak’s commendable breakthroughs in product development and market penetration were recognized with ‘Outstanding Performer of the Year’ and by the ‘Philips Excellence Award’. He was working as a Deputy General Manager at Havells India before joining Puresight Systems Pvt. Limited in 2016.
Pulak envisions offering evolved home cleaning solutions in India’s rapidly growing economy, using effective and practical robot solutions to appeal to the busy urban Indian. He has been leveraging the brand’s ultramodern and convenient products to attract modern Indian customers, selling iRobot’s products via a retail presence in Chennai and Bangalore, and through online channels like the company website and Amazon to ensure pan-Indian accessibility. Under his leadership, the brand is poised to launch its flagship stores and service centres across the country. Pulak is also set to expand iRobot’s presence across large format retail stores in India over the next five years.
Roomba refers to dry cleaning and comes in a low profile, disc shaped design, and a touch of future-ready aesthetics. The low profile design enables the Roomba to reach under most furniture and other hard to reach areas, to give you a complete cleaning solution. The edge-sweeping brush is specially designed at an angle of 27° to enable it to sweep debris and dust from wall edges and corners, into Roomba’s path, so that the bot can vacuum it all away.
Braava, on the other hand, refers to the category of mopping devices that can clean different types of floors, including hard surfaces such as tile, hardwood, and laminate. This robo-mopping device either uses dry or damp disposable cleaning cloths, such as specially-designed microfiber cloth, which have greater reusability. Braava devices can dry mop up to 92 square meters in a single cleaning cycle and are loaded with easy-to-attach and easy-to-remove cleaning cloth along with a removable magnetic cleaning pad. As of now, there are two Braava devices available in the Indian market, namely Braava-Jet 240 and Braava 390t mopping robots.
